What is Gardenup?
Gardenup is a Demeter Certified Biodynamic Community farm in Boyup Brook.
Biodynamic means that the property is managed according to biodynamic principles.
We farm without the use of any chemicals or artificial fertilisers, using companion plants,
natural pest control, biodynamic preparations and lots of compost!
We guarantee this with Demeter Certification.
Gardenup offers produce for sale from the farm shop on the property, through weekly orders
which you can place by email each week before Sunday night - gardenup@westnet.com.au
Why is Gardenup called a community farm?
Gardenup has an open garden on a regular basis for volunteer groups.
People of all ages and background can join us for some gardening, a cup of tea and a chat.
Further we organise workshops for children and adults.
The garden gates stand wide open for all sorts of community orientated projects.
We run workshops in a joint project between Gardenup and the Boyup Brook Telecentre, the Blackwood Basin Group and the Seed Saver's group.
We source produce from Gardenup's own garden, eggs from Boyup Chook and Certified Organic vegetables from farms in this region.
In this way we avoid unnecessary road and airmiles and we promote locally grown food, helping local farmers.
We only source Certified Biodynamic and Certified Organic.
This to assure you of our integrity and quality.
Food grown in this way tastes better and holds it freshness and colour longer.
What's Available?
Of course it is seasonal:
Apples, pears, grapefruit, bananas, oranges, beetroot, onions, cabbage, potatoes, cucumber, broccoli,
cauliflower, carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, silverbeet, beans, salad mixes .
We also sell grains, dried fruit, flour and much more. All certified biodynamic and certified organic produce.
How can I order?
Simply place an order with us for top quality certified organic veggies by email before Sunday night each week and making an electronic payment to us after you have picked up your box on Wednesday.
When do I pick my fruit and veggies up?
On Wednesdays
What will our weekly box cost me ?
In the Basket (see photo below) :
1 broccoli ($2.50)* + 1 cauli ($3.50)* + 1 bag salad mix($5.00)* + 1kg apples ($4.00)* + 1kg potatoes ($2.25)* = $17.25*
* - This is the price the Growers get and is subject to change according to season and market.
- on top of this we add 35% for transport and packaging.
The total price of this basket is $17.25 + 35% = $6.00+$17.25 Total: $23.25
You order only the food you like to eat, you can order different food in your box every week.
